Saweetie and H.E.R. Get Closer in the Sky
When I first heard Saweetie’s “Closer” featuring H.E.R., it was the song that I needed at that moment in time. Its bouncy beat and H.E.R.’s sensuous crooning spirited me away from all the pandemonium happening in the world. I don’t know what these two talented sisters had in mind when they wrote this song, but it felt like flying. You know how when you’re listening to “Sail On” by the Commodores and Lionel Ritchie hits that chorus? It makes you feel like you’re on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, with a cool breeze blowing, and not a cloud in the sky. In this case, it’s a luxurious airplane soaring through the clouds, the sun reflecting off of the wings of that fabulous bird, while you sip on champagne in first class.
So, you could imagine my surprise earlier today when I watched Saweetie’s new video. It was a serious WTF moment. This is kind of what I had been daydreaming about listening to “Closer”, minus the bling and the women, of course (okay, the reason I didn’t include women in my fantasy is because I just wanted the whole plane to myself). What impressed the hell out of me was that flight attendant outfit that looks like it was made for “riding” rather than flying (heh). Saweetie wears the hell out of that blinged-out classic flight attendant costume, and I love H.E.R.’S pilot uniform.
