I’m crazy, not stupid.

I don’t know if I’ll ever tell anyone how massively complex it was for me to rebuild Neuerotica after temporarily shutting her down for a year, redesigning her, tearing her down, then rebuilding her. It’s exhausting just thinking about it. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say it nearly killed me. For the better part of a year, I endured anxiety, mania, hallucinations, and one day, I cried for no reason for an entire day. So there is no way, after all that, I’m going to fuck up everything by publishing articles with pornographic (or pseudo-pornographic) pics of children.

When I was eight or nine years old, a friend called me from downstairs, so I hopped out of the bath and onto my bedroom windowsill, then proceeded to jump up and down in all my naked glory. My friend stared at me in shock while his sister laughed herself to tears. I don’t know if it’s an autistic trait, but I’ve always been that way, and people’s reaction is what makes it pleasurable for me. It’s why Neuerotica and (by extension) our memes feature “inappropriate” nude and semi-nude images. In my article on artist Pedro Bell in Chapter Five, I explained why and how he used nudity, sex, and humor in his album-cover artwork as a vehicle for anti-imperialist propaganda. I’ve borrowed his formula, to an extent. This is how we’ll build an audience for our artists, and spread a little socialist propaganda. Yes, it’s dirty, but have you seen the world, lately?

If you’re a manga and/or anime fan, you’re already familiar with the debate about whether or not cartoons and drawings of “people” are people who are real enough to be concerned about. You could say that someone in an illustration is a certain age, but that would be a lie. Even in the context of a story, it’s still a lie, because the character doesn’t exist. For the most part, I chose to use AI-generated images, most of which feature individuals who appear to be under 18 or not much older, because images of the person being quoted or just an ordinary image or a pattern aren’t enough to attract attention. What will attract attention is an image of a young white girl posed seductively above a quote by Frederick Douglass or by one of the targets of our satire.  I happen to think that’s outrageously funny, but I also realize that others may not see it that way.

If you’ve seen any of our memes floating around social media, you might understand better. Just know that when you see an image of a semi-clothed or unclothed individual on Neuerotica (or in our memes), and they appear to be under the age of eighteen, they’re either AI (or other type of art medium) or they are (as real people), in fact, over eighteen years of age, but happen to look younger than they actually are. If you think the latter is an impossibility, allow me to introduce you to:

‍ ‍

This is former Colombian porn actress Lupe Fuentes (currently a music producer and DJ out of Los Angeles), once known by the stage name Little Lupe. Standing at a mere 4’9”, she looks like she’s twelve or thirteen in this promotional photograph, but at the time, she was nineteen. There are adult women and men who look like this, I remember a depressing episode of Law & Order: SVU about the subject. The condition can be caused by certain genetic factors, such as Williams Syndrome. On the cable channel TLC in 2021, there was a story about 22-year-old Shauna Rae. Despite her age, Shauna looked eight years old and had to deal with constantly being treated like, and mistaken for, a child.

The point is, if you see images of naked human beings in any type of sexual behavior here on Neuerotica, the person (or persons) in said images are legal af, meaning above the legal age of consent. We don’t do kids here.

Obviously, there are bigger concerns than an artificially manufactured image of children who don’t exist. Anyone who finds themselves critical of the images we use and how we use them should save their time and energy for the well-being of real kids. Satire has always been an effective form of protest and a means of raising awareness. People will be shocked by our particular brand of satire, it’s true, but it’s not being done for shock value. Within less than a year, our country has entered the first phase of becoming a fascist country. You would think that would be shocking enough to wake more people to this nightmare scenario, but unfortunately, it isn’t. There is a saying that “desperate times call for desperate measures,” and that is where we find ourselves, not only in this country, but in the world. I’m utilizing artificial obscenities to highlight the obscenity of reality.

If there’s any “questionable” art or photographs on our site or in our memes), I have “receipts”, as they say. We also intend to ensure that any materials we receive from our subjects (and eventually publish) are legal, so anyone who objects to the “vulgarity” of our content can find some other tree to bark under.
