Ka Wa Key and the The Twink Prince

Last year in an interview with another fashion designer, we discussed how drab fall and winter wear seem to be here in New York. While I do understand that dark colors attract the sun’s ultraviolet rays, hence, warmth (bright colors having the obverse effect), I think that with manufacturing being what it is now, we no longer need to wear dark clothing in the winter. I purchased a gorgeous white winter coat in recent months, and it is the warmest coat I have ever owned. So why can’t we have some color when the temps are cooler? I mean, we wear our shirts and sweaters under our coats where the sun can’t reach, after all.

I don’t know if that thought ever occurred to London-based, gender-fluid label design duo Ka Wa Key (Key Chow and Jarno Leppanen), but they've nevertheless produced a series of gorgeous colorful outfits for fall/winter 2020 season. Their New York Fashion Week presentation for New York Men’s Day (February 3) was entitled “The Twink Prince”, and was inspired by “The Little Prince”, a novella by French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (one of my favorite tales as a child).

Behold and be amazed at the glorious colors and designs of Ka Wa Key.
