FLYING SOLO
Don’t be fooled by the name. Flying Solo is anything but a solo act. This designing conglomerate is a collection of fashion names and ideas that appear to be the future of fashion. Founded three years ago by jewelry designer, Elizabeth Solomeina, this headliner now houses a collection of over 120 designers. Flying Solo is a curated fashion incubator that has given designers the juncture to retail their creations at the boutique located in Soho, showroom representation for editorials and celebrity attention, as well as runway opportunities to present their ideas at both New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
On February 24th, 36 designers from around the globe represented the brand, Flying Solo, in Paris Fashion Week 2020 at the Salon Marceau, a short distance from the Arc de Triomphe, leading to praises from top media outlets like Vogue Italia and Elle. Flying Solo has proven to be one of the biggest fashion platforms for launching the careers of many independent designers, and it consists of like-minded, creative and connected fashion professionals, aimed at closing the gap between designers and consumers while exposing collections to press and media. Earlier in the month, Flying Solo presented 55 collections during NYFW runway show at Pier 59 Studios.
PFW20 showcased avante-garde designs from Anna Margarette and Razani, Art Point’s bright yellow pacifiers with matching shades, Freakbutik’s designer face masks, Mikage Shin’s pleated men’s jacket dress, and sheer-fabric designs from Seta, Laskari, HLCAE and Vinter, as well as charming street-style children’s wear from Kicomo by Kiara C. Marrow, stylish formal suits for men by Kiromi Asai, elegant evening and cocktail wears by Yasmin Mansour, Reganalds, Di Vincenzo, and Nathasha Chabelnique, and a wedding collection from Atelieria. Beachwear by Les Meraki and day wear by Sukaz, Apacceli, Marc Bernstein New York, Monzlapur and Maturos New York also graced center stage. The presentation gave attendees not only a glance into the future of fashion, but a real view of trends from all corners of the globe. The show also featured collections of bags, jewelry, and shoes from Volta Atelier, Glamrocks Jewelry, B Dodi, Picali Jewelry, Coco & Breezy, Georgina Jewelry, Per Fidem and Solomeina.
