Byron Lars and the Joy of Dressing Up
Eleven months ago, we did an interview with the intrepid fashion designer Byron Lars who, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, managed to rebrand himself with In Earnest (founded with business partner Sheila Gray in 2020) from his studio in Harlem.
This year, Byron did away with the runway, choosing instead to present his Spring 2023 collection as part of a multi-artist event celebrating fashion, dance, and theater. Coloring outside of the lines is what Byron does and does well due to his auspicious rise to fame in the early days.
