Underrated Coastal Areas to Make Your Next Vacation Destination

When people think about visiting the coast, they usually are imagining Southern California or Florida. And while those coasts are beautiful there are some other amazing coastal areas that definitely deserve your attention. Shake up your next beach vacation by visiting one of these locals below so you can enjoy everything the United States coastlines have to offer.

Oregon Coast

There is something really special about the Oregon coast. And while it doesn’t get the scorching heat of Southern California beaches it still is a warm and beautiful place to spend your time during the summer months. Throughout the rest of the year, it is beautiful and doesn’t have the crowds that other beaches experience. From Rockaway to Astoria there are beautiful things to see across the Oregon coast and you can spend your trip in a single location or visiting multiple beaches and getting a full view of the sandy shores and rock formations that make the Oregon Coast so special.

The Carolinas

On the opposite side of the country, you’ll find the Carolinas. Their coasts are beautiful and are definitely a must-see destination on the east coast. In addition to being absolutely beautiful, the coasts of North and South Carolina are full of historical significance that is definitely worth delving into. Roanoke Island has a lot of history behind it as the first English settlement in the U.S. Take some time to explore the North and South Carolina coasts so you can really enjoy everything they have to offer.

Rhode Island

Rhode Island is another location that boasts surprisingly amazing coasts that many people don’t realize even exist. Despite being incredibly small, Rhode Island has many varied beaches that can meet the needs of any beachgoer. And as a major plus, you can visit them all on a very short trip. You’ll also find amazing food along the beaches as well as easy access to surrounding states and plenty to do across the state and into the others.

There is no reason to restrict your beach visits to the most popular beaches in the country. If you expand your beach going horizons, you will find that there are amazing beaches on both coasts that you never would have visited otherwise. And you will likely find your new favorite that you won’t have to share with the crowds of other tourists making the rounds.
