You Are What You Wear
It’s not enough for Google to have built the most powerful and beloved search engine on the planet, now they’ve gone and created what looks to be the most compendious collection of fashion history and culture. This ambitious project is entitled “We Wear Culture”, and is part of Google Arts & Culture. It involves “180 museums, fashion institutions, schools, archives and other organizations from the fashion hubs of New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, São Paulo and elsewhere”, all who collaborated with Google on this vast historical resource. The database is far more than just pretty pictures, and boring text, there are immersive displays such as interactive videos, and virtual reality. We’re talking 3,000 years of fashion, all accessible from your desktop or mobile device.
